Founded in the fall of 1980,
The Eclectic Café has evolved into the high energy,
fresh food neighborhood café it is today.
Mark Haddad Smith the original working owner is proud of his many long-time
employees, which includes general manager, Sandy LaCava, who has been
with the Eclectic Café since 1982. Many more employees have been
with the café for ten years or more: Hector Torres, manager;
Francisco Cervantes, Chef; Maurine Weaver and Tammy Ross, servers; and
Jason McCarty, manager for seven years. Mark feels a strong cohesive
staff has been elemental in the success of the Eclectic.
The Eclectic Café also boasts many long-time regular customers
with fond affection. It has been with their continued support, patronage
and friendship that the café has become a notable Tucson eatery.
According to Mark, The Eclectic Café's philosophy on food and
cooking is that, "often times simplicity coupled with quality and freshness
ensures the success of a recipe."
